With a rich background in the Canadian financial services sector, I have honed my expertise over 14 years, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, payments, open banking, and digital identity. My career is a blend of rigorous legal practice and a passion for driving innovation within the fintech and banking sectors.

My Story

Alina started Elite Fintech Law to deliver her expertise to a range of clients operating in fintech from traditional banks to challenger banks. Her mission is to create order out of chaos and find legal solutions to innovative financial services without compromising business outcomes.

Alina graduated from University of Toronto Law School in 2009 and articled and practiced as junior lawyer at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP. Before launching Elite Fintech Law, Alina represented TD Bank as Managing Counsel and was responsible along with a team of four lawyers for supporting open banking initiatives and advocacy, payments modernization and merchant services. Prior to that, Alina provided legal advice to TD Bank’s Digital Channel’s business to participate in mobile wallets, network arrangements, digital international payment remittance services and other digital transformation projects.

Over the years, Alina has spoken at various conferences and CLEs on open banking. She is passionate about staying ahead of the curve and exploring new opportunities including on the new frontier of AI and the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
